Money Trumps Health

The smoking ban in the casinos is over in Atlantic City...at least for now. It was really a heart warming tale about a major industry that risked losing customers for the health of its workers. The problem, however, was that a large majority of gamblers love their smokes. Who would have thought that a group of people who like to drink and piss away their hard earned cash at the slot machines or black jack tables would be neglectful of their own health? Well, it turns out they are. So much that many of these gamblers would rather travel to other casinos without a smoking ban in order to do so. Using the whole "economic climate" excuse (something that will be overused in the near future by every organization that wants to cut jobs or payments), Atlantic City reversed its course and is now embracing cigarette smoke once again. So you give a few workers lung cancer due to second hand smoke? Who cares? At least the gamblers are happy and remember, the customer is always right. So three cheers to the spineless local city council. You have proven once again that money always trumps health.
