The AMA and other physician groups all bought into the change promised by healthcare reform. Well....they got it. The Medical Liability Reform Demonstration project is the answer:
HHS will allocate $25 million for this initiative. The funding will support grants that will vary depending on the size and complexity of the proposal. The "Review of What Works" and overall program evaluation will be conducted by contracts with existing AHRQ funding.
Twenty-five millions bucks is like pissing in the ocean. I don't really know what that metaphor means but it just felt good to type. All I that I know is that the trial lawyers can continue to sleep good at night. Business will be booming for a long time whether it is legitimate or not.
