Fatter Than We Think

If we were to use the WHO international guidelines, about half of white women and more than two-thirds of Latino women would be considered obese. The difference between our federal guidelines and the WHO guidelines is that they use body-fat analysis and we use body mass index. This study appears in the May issue of Obstetrics and Gynecology and was highlighted in the USA Today. The same researchers predict more of our men should be listed as obese as well. To summarize, we are fatter than we think. How scary is that?
