Read this article in a recent USA Today to see how many doctors are trying to make some extra cash on the side. They mention an OB/GYN trying to do a tummy tuck, an eye doctor trying to shoot Botox, and a dentist trying to overhaul someone's entire mouth. It seems that many docs are really trying to become capitalists in this tough economy. The big problem, however, is that we really need to be an advocate of trust for our patients and a "hard sell" is inappropriate in the exam room. Next thing you know there will be doctors selling vitamins or trying to coax a patient into joining Amway. LOL. What? That is happening already? Well, triple diamond, here I come.
