See Your Doctor by Ted Bacharach MD (retired)

The admonition “see your doctor promptly” is heard or seen frequently, primarily on the television and is usually seen in ads placed by pharmaceutical companies. They can use this easily since it will not affect them in any way (except to avoid liability). Unfortunately, physicians cannot respond in any way that would affect the drug company’s comfort, but I am sure many of us would love to retaliate.

Editor's Note (Doug Farrago) - Ted, I agree that they use this to to cover their asses. Even as a patient myself, it annoys me that I would have to call my own doctor for an unusual side effect......except for that 4 hour erection thing. I'm lovin' it!
