Joint Commision and Medical Homes

I don't how I missed this? It was recently announced that the Joint Commision is now going to accredit medical homes. How lovely. A third-party organization which everyone thinks works for the government is going to snoop around medical offices to see if they are pretending to make this medical home thing real. One happy horseshit organization watching over another. "This new optional program will help ensure that patients receive ambulatory care services in a manner that is comprehensive, accessible and coordinated," said Michael Kulczycki, executive director of the Joint Commission's ambulatory accreditation program. Optional? I think not. With more government involvement comes more regulations to follow which makes the Joint Commision feel even more self-important. I want to puke.
