Like it or not, rationing occurs in our healthcare system all the time. Heck, the managed care companies do it every day. Presently, Medicaid doesn't allow patients to get any medication they want. This is not a new phenomenon. Recently, Arizona cut some of its transplant programs to Medicaid patients. They justified this move due to cost and low success rate. They had numbers to prove it. Here is an article in the NY Times showing how anecdotal evidence will trump the decision by the state of Arizona. This will become another political class warfare "example" and the state will have to retract its decision. I guarantee it.
