Contraception

At Frayser High School in Tennessee, ninety teenage girls are either pregnant or have had a baby this school year. That is an astounding 26%. Frayser is a Title One school and receives federal dollars based on the number of students from low-income families who qualify for free or reduced lunch. So there are many questions here. Is this a cultural issue? If you read the article and the comments you will see that there is no shame in teen pregnancy there. In fact, it seems just the opposite. Who is to blame? Could it be the reality TV shows glorifying teen pregnancy? Who knows. These numbers, however, blow me away. The same cycle of poverty will continue as these teens and their babies will soon find out. It's just so sad.
