The Future of the NFL

I love football. I love pro football even more. I am not sure I love the NFL, though. Right now there are questions as whether the NFL will have a season next year. The owners opted out of the contract claiming they need more money. Maybe they do, but did you see the Super Bowl? How many players were knocked out of the biggest game of their lives? Shields, Sanders, Woodson and the list goes on. Heck, the Green Bay Packers had 15 guys on injured reserve before the game even started. The sport is awesome but the guys are too big and they hit each other to hurt each other. The average player lasts only a little more than 3 years as a professional. Baseball players last twice as long, get hurt less, have less long-term disabilities and get paid more (crappy left handed middle relievers get paid what Tom Brady gets paid). Yeah, I am with the football players on this one. For a sport that uses the most padding on its players, these guys need more protection - for life.
