Here is a nice little nugget for you. As reported by the Huffington Post there is a glitch in the new healthcare reform bill that will allow up to 3 million more people onto Medicaid even though they may make upwards of $64,000 a year. It has to do with a loophole that allows people to NOT have their social security counted as income. Even the Medicare chief actuary Richard Foster said, "I don't generally comment on the pros or cons of policy, but that just doesn't make sense. This is a situation that got no attention at all. And even now, as I raise the issue with various policymakers, people are not rushing to say ... we need to do something about this." Read the rest of the article to understand more but this is the kind of stuff that makes you cringe. Trying to continually expanding Medicaid, the worst of all government health plans, has always been in the president's plan and that in itself dooms the whole thing.
