Researchers from Harvard School of Public Health (HSPH), Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER), and Providence Health & Services have found that expanding low income adults’ access to Medicaid substantially increases health care use, reduces financial strain on covered individuals, and improves their self-reported health and well-being.
So let me get this straight. If you give more people free health insurance (Medicaid) then they will use it more because, well, it's free. It will cost less to them because, well, it's free. And they are happier about it because, well, it's f%cking free.
Their conclusion - Medicaid is great and everyone should have it. No secret agenda there, eh? This may be the most ludicrous study I have EVER seen.
Hey, Harvard, how come you don't give away free education then?
