The newest media buzz is about the Governor of Texas, Rick Perry, and his recent experimental stem cell therapy for his back. The dude had stem cells removed from his own fat, grown in a lab and then shot into his back. His orthopedist had it done upon himself in Japan prior and then recommended Perry do it. The Boston Globe, amongst others, are ripping Perry because of the lack of science behind it and because Perry is running for president and is against embryonic stem cell research. This whole area of using your own stem cells for healing is growing very quickly. It is not regulated but there is potential. Ask Bartolo Colon who made an incredible comeback for the Yankees after getting it done. I understand the media's concern about Perry doing it but I think they are blowing it out of proportion. I do think that in the future, however, that Perry stick to the tried and true methods of faith healing, black rhino horns, and luck.
