Pat Summitt, the famous woman's basketball coach, has been
diagnosed with dementia at the age of 59. How sad is that? Personally, I thought she had Parkinsonism because of her masked facies. I mean the lady never was caught smiling. Anyway, they say she is going to keep coaching but how long can that last? Actually, Reagan ran our country when he had dementia so I guess for a while. I do wish her luck but I think her slide will be hidden from the public after she retires. This is a terrible disease and so sad to see. I have seen patients go from a little memory loss to a full out senility in a short time. They say she will receive treatment but I am so unimpressed with the meds we have now. It doesn't look good and when she retires you won't see her again. Remember Dean Smith of Tar Heels?
