The Cost of Obesity

Obesity is costing some states up to $15 billion a year!  The brunt of this medical bill is taken on by taxpayers according to a recent Duke study.  They concluded that obesity is a preventable illness that could save our country a lot of money.  Uh...duh.   At the same time a study came out showing that 17 million kids are struggling with "food insecurity" and there is a push to do anything to keep these kids from being hungry.  I don't live in a rich area.  I see a lot of poor kids.  I don't see thin kids.  I see a lot of fat kids.  On one end we want to stop obesity to save money and on the other we try to end "food insecurity" to get them fed with crappy food.  Which, by the way, is still paid by taxpayers. Hmmm.
