The mission of this blog is to connect us back to the roots of medicine. It is about fighting back against those things that are taking us away from the direct care of patients while still pointing out the lunacy and hypocrisy of this job.

More Frequent Visits
In a stunning turn of events, new research has come out stating that when diabetic patients see their primary care doctor every one to two weeks versus every three to six months their blood glucose, blood pressure and cholesterol levels are under better control. Who cares whether this is totally unfeasible under this present healthcare system? This may change everything. Let's extrapolate this some more, shall we? Maybe if we brought these patients in every day they would have even BETTER numbers. I got it! Here is a better idea. How about if these brilliant researchers did a study to see if whether having diabetic patients LIVE with their doctors would improve their blood glucose, blood pressure, and cholesterol even more? This would be ground-breaking and as impossible as bringing in diabetic patients every one to two weeks.
