A new study found that school bans on sugar-sweetened beverages (SSBs) made no difference on the amount the students drank. About 85 per cent of students reported consuming sugar-sweetened beverages at least once a week and 26 per cent to 33 per cent of students reported daily consumption.
The report in the newest issue of the Archives of Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine also suggested that students who often drank the beverages increased their consumption outside of school when they couldn't buy them in school. Wait a minute. Does this mean that there should be responsibility for a child's health from home? What is this world coming to?!?
